Brisbane is capital of the "Sunshine State" of Queensland, which
is twice the size of Texas. Brizzie's one million inhabitants enjoy
the greenness of a sub-tropical climate. We sampled living in the
outback by drinking billie tea and damper (bread) cooked over an
open campfire and petted more kangaroos, Australia's beloved symbol.
The photos feature one of the sturdy sheep on whose back the economy
rests and a cockatoo who fancies silver bangles as much as a certain
Flat World traveler.
